

Paula M. Flanders, age 63, of Temple was escorted home by her late husband, Charles M. Flanders on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 19 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. James Ekeocha officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Mrs. Flanders was born December 31, 1947 in Raymondville to Roberto and Paula Zamora. She graduated from Raymondville High School, received her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and received several certifications from Texas A&M University. She married Charles M. Flanders on May 5, 1987 and was very blessed to work side by side with her beloved husband for seven years prior to his medical retirement. She worked for the City of Irving for 15 years as a Code Enforcement Inspector. She then worked for Texas A&M University for two years and assisted her husband teaching Code Enforcement Regulations. In 1988, she and her husband worked for Allwaste, Inc. as the Health, Safety, Compliance Administrator until she retired in 1999. They moved to Temple in 2000. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and the St. Luke's Women's Society. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Survivors include her daughter, Diana Casler and husband, Kelly of Fort Worth and her son, Larry Gomez and wife, Anita and her beloved grandson, Jeremy Gomez all of Irving; brothers, Robert Zamora and wife, Esmeralda of Raymondville, Rosendo Zamora and wife, Michelle, Rene Zamora and wife, Cindy all of McAllen, Danny Zamora and wife, Heidi, David Zamora and wife, Stacy, Jaime Zamora all of San Antonio, Edward Zamora and wife, Lillian of Harlingen; sisters, Adela Zamora of Kennewick, Washington, Lydia Cisneros and husband, Fred of Raymondville, Lisa Moran and husband, Jon of Round Rock, Alicia Zamora of Huntsville, Sandy Zamora of Raymondville and Linda Garcia and husband, Jim of San Antonio. She is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews and three great nieces and nephew and her stepfather-in-law, Pate Hughes of Temple.
