Ray was born on September 9, 1952, in Temple, Texas, to Raymond Stanke, Sr. and Aline (Stefka) Stanke. He graduated from Rosebud High School in 1970. Ray married Carol Shenkir on August 14,1976.
Ray had a lifelong love of tractors—whether working on them or driving them—and he took pride in fixing things and working with his hands. He enjoyed spending time outdoors no matter the task, and he and his wife Carol shared a love of gardening.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; brother, Steve Stanke of Temple; his son, Raymond Stanke III and wife Heather of Corpus Christi,Texas; his daughter, Rebecca Stanke of Temple, Texas; and five grandchildren: Caitlin Dutton and Ciara Hammond, both of Temple, McKenzie Martin of San Antonio, and Sydney Stanke and Everleigh Stanke of Corpus Christi.
He will be remembered for his dedication to family, his work ethic, and his love for the simple joys in life.
