

Mr. Robert C. Scott, Jr, 78 years old, passed away peacefully at home in Temple on September 30, 2010, surrounded by family. Funeral arrangements are through Scanio - Harper Funeral Home with mass at St. Luke's Catholic Church at 10 am and burial at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 1 pm on Monday, October 4th. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 3rd, at 6-7:30 pm, with rosary to follow at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Scott was born on October 25, 1931 to Ellen Grogan and Robert C. Scott of El Paso, TX. He graduated from EL Paso High School where he was active in school activities and played guard on the varsity football team. He graduated from Texas Western College (currently the Univ. of Texas at El Paso) with a B.A. and later with a Masters degree. He was a Korean War era veteran and served in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant. He spent his entire career with the El Paso Independent School District and served as a counselor, educator and then finally as a school administrator putting in 33 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife, Marta of Temple; a sister, Nancy Fitzgibbon of Los Alamos, NM; a daughter, Dr. Nancy E. Scott of New York City; a son, Dr. Robert C. Scott III and his wife Cindy Scott of Temple; a step-daughter, Patsy Leyba of Phoenix; step-sons, Roger Dominguez of El Paso and Raul Dominguez of San Jose; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers are Robert C. Scott III, Ryan Scott, Mal Fischer, Joe Fitzgibbon, James Fitzgibbon, Roger Dominguez and Raul Dominguez.
