
After 87 wonderful years with his loving family Robert went home to be with the Lord. He was born on October 19, 1920 in Rogers, Texas to Bennie and Lottie Myrtle Tharp Brisbin. He died on April 21, 2008 in Moody, Texas. Cotton, who started life as a very white haired child, spent about 65 years doing construction work. He boxed and went to Fort Worth in 1940 to compete in the State Golden Gloves finals. He played softball and baseball competitively for many years. He served in World War II from 1943 to 1946. He married Hazel Curtis Thomas on September 20, 1941 and she preceded him in death on September 14, 1984. He married Lonabe Conklin Smith on May 23, 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Dorothy Doughty and Bertha Wadsworth and two brothers; Jake Brisbin and Kenneth Brisbin. One step-grandchild, Angelica Smith. He is survived by his wife, Lonabe Brisbin, his son, Robert Edward Brisbin, Jr. and wife Kathy. One step¬daughter, Anna Hennig (David) and three stepsons John Smith (Robin), Dan Smith (Penny) and Bill Smith (Sharon). Two sisters, June Capshaw and Ruth Collins. Four brothers, Windel "Dub" Brisbin, Roy "Bootie" Brisbin, A. B. Brisbin and J. B. Brisbin. Three grandchildren; Kelli Frisch (Pete), Niki Howton (Jason) and Robert William Brisbin. 13 step¬grandchildren; John Edward, Shelby and Clint Smith; Danny, David, Matthew, Michaela, and Sarah Smith; Jessica and Doug Henig; Isabelle, Lauren and Garrett Smith. Four Great grandchildren. Two Step¬great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday at Western Hills Church of Christ with Gary Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be in Greathouse Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
