Robert Moore, age 88, formerly of Temple and Rockdale went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2010 in a Woodway nursing center. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 16 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Moore officiating. Private burial will be held at Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Moore was born on May 8, 1922 in Sweetwater to George and Allene (Jenkins) Moore. He grew up in Texas and attended Waco schools. He was an officer in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was a retired shift supervisor for TXU in Rockdale. He attended Faith Assembly of God in Rogers. He was preceded in death by two wives, Anna Bell Moore and Iva Louise Moore, two sons, Woody Herman Kitchings and Alfred Dale Moore. Survivors include two daughters, Wilma McVay of Texas City and Bobbie Ann Hooper of Miami, Florida, one son, George Moore and wife, Martha of Hewitt, niece, Little Carolyn Farmer of Lacy Lakeview and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
