
Rose Marie Watts, remembered for her love of nature, sparkling wit, culinary prowess and signature white tresses, died on Thursday in Temple, Texas where she lived throughout her adult life. She was born in Troy, Texas on Dec. 13, 1920 to Paul Edward Krause, Jr. and Anna Emma Meyer. She is survived by her only son Robert Keith Watts and daughter-in-law Carolyn; grandson Robert Keith Watts, Jr., his wife Jane and their two sons Robert and William; granddaughter Elena Watts and her husband Thomas Kremer; step-grandson James Shirley and his wife Lyndee; niece Dixie Hancock and nephew Lester Krause. She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Robert Walter Watts, her brother Herman Krause and sister Pauline Marrs. The visitation is Monday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home followed by a 10 a.m. graveside service on Tuesday at the beautiful, hillside Blevins Cemetery. Reverend Zora Cheatham is officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center at P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486 or the Blevins Cemetery. The family extends special thanks to the staff of the Western Hills Nursing Center and Lighthouse Hospice for the exceptional care they provided Rose during her final days.
