Stacy Hitchman

Stacy Wayne Hitchman, age 57, of Belton passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at a family home in Copperas Cove.  He was born on March 9, 1960 in Temple, Texas the son of William and Joyce Hitchman.  On September 11, 1982 in Temple Stacy married Kathy Lynn Holder. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 6:00PM – 8:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, Texas.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home followed by burial at North Belton Cemetery in Belton. Stacy went to LSU for several years, achieved many certificates in law enforcement and fire prevention/safety, was the City Manager of Morgan’s Point Resort for 15 years retiring in 2011, a member of Morgan’s Point Optimist Club, and president of the National Eagle Scout Association. He is survived by his wife Kathy of Belton, daughter Charlotte Hitchman and fiancé Chris Hodges of Copperas Cove, son Matthew Hitchman and fiancé Sarah Bumgarner of Belton, and grandchildren; Odin, Kelsey, Hallie, Axle, Nova, Marissa, and Tyler.  He is also survived by a brother Tom Hitchman and wife Denise of Boise, ID, and a sister Stephanie Douglas and husband Ira of Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Joyce Hitchman.
