

Suzanne ‘Suzy’ Blundell, age 58, of Troy, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2025, at her home. A loving daughter, sister, and devoted educator, Suzy leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and dedication to her family, students, and community.
Born on April 25, 1967, in Kampala, Uganda, Suzy was the daughter of Ray and Martha Blundell. She grew up surrounded by love and support, and her family was always the center of her life. Suzy earned a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and spent 25 years teaching at Kennedy-Powell Elementary School in Temple, Texas, where she impacted countless young lives. Her passion for education and her commitment to her students were evident in everything she did.
A member of Taylors Valley Baptist Church in Temple, Suzy was also deeply involved in her church community. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she found strength and peace in her spiritual connections. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be remembered for her warm smile, her generosity, and her unwavering spirit.
Suzy was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Amy Blundell. She is survived by her parents, Ray and Martha Blundell of Troy, Texas; her brother, Claude Richard Blundell of Denton, Texas; and her sister, Cindy Ray Blundell. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate Suzy’s life will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple, Texas. A private burial will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Thompsonville, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Southern Baptist International Mission Board (IMB.org) 3806 Monument Ave. Richmond, VA 23230, or to the UMHB Scholarship Fund.
