

Funeral services for Tillman Edwin Barrington, 87, of Belton will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Bellwood Memorial Park with Elder Troy Barrington officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Barrington was born in Portales, New Mexico December 21, 1932 to James Abbey Barrington and Bonnie Beatrice Self Barrington. He married Belva Stehle May 29, 1953, in Floydada, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army, as a Nurse Anesthetists. He attained the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, along with other medals. He was also the Director of Nurse Anesthetists at M.D. Anderson Hospital for six years, was an Anesthetists at Kings Daughters Hospital for seven years and was Locum Tenen Anesthetists for four years. He was a member and Deacon at Grace Community Primitive Baptist Church. He was active in Boy Scouts, the Lions Club and AARP Tax Counselors. He moved from Houston to Stillhouse Lake 30 years ago.
Mr. Barrington was preceded in death by one son Ray D. Barrington.
Survivors include his wife Belva Barrington of Belton; one son Rodger T. Barrington and his wife Linda of Friendswood; two daughters Sheri Strong of Belton and Heather Cassidy and her husband Tim of Tyler; his daughter-in-law Jane Barrington of Friendswood; grandchildren Rae Nell Barnes and her husband Chris of Pearland, Kyleigh June Armstrong and Kevin Barrington and three great grandchildren.
