Viola Bartek

Viola Bartek, age 84 of Oenaville, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 in a local hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, February 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Sauser as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery at Cyclone. Visitation will be 3:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with rosary recited at 4:00 PM. Mrs. Bartek was born February 6, 1930 in Westphalia to Andrew and Annie Smetana Stermer. She attended school in Westphalia. She married Johnnie J. Bartek on October 14, 1947 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cyclone. She worked for Gresham's Printing Company for 17 years and retired from Scott & White Hospital after 14 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Johnnie J. Bartek of Oenaville, two sons, Johnnie Wayne Bartek and wife, Debbie and Larry Bartek and wife, Peggy all of Belton, five grandchildren, Angie Bartek of Austin, Alisha Henn and husband, Mark and Amber Langley and husband, Jeremy all of Temple, Carrie McCoy and husband, Robert of Montgomery and Trent Janke of Oenaville and six great-grandchildren, Hudson, Harper, Kate, Claire, Hunter and Teal. Pallbearers are Greg Doskocil, Roy Doskocil, Dennis Green, Mark Henn, Michael Killian and Jeremy Langley.
