

Wallace Lloyd Rumsey Age 87 of Lewisville, moved to heaven on July 26, 2010. Service will be held at The Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple, Tx on Thursday July 29 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. He was born on October 18, 1922 on a farm five miles out of Miles, Tx in Tom Green County. His parents were Wallace E. Rumsey and Viola Tennyson. He is preceded in death by his wife Earline McFall, his parents, and his brother Leland and his wife Oleta. He graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry and Sul Ross State Univ with a Masters of Education. He served in the Army and the Navy during World War II. Mr. Rumsey taught 9 years in high school and 21 years in elementary school. He taught Vocational Agriculture, 5th and 6th grade Math and Science, and Elementary PE. He and his wife taught in Water Valley, Pecos, Imperial, Big Lake, and Kerrville. He was a member of Austin's Old Three Hundred, Sons of the Republic of Texas, Denton County Aggie Alumni, John Berry Association, First United Methodist Church of Lewisville, Retired Teachers Lewisville, and a Life Member of American Legion Post 133 of Temple. Lloyd was a loyal church member wherever he lived. He enjoyed being a school teacher, an Aggie and a volunteer wherever he found a need. He and Earline loved to travel in a motor home. Survivors are a son, Ronald Louis Rumsey, and his wife Anne, of Carrollton; a daughter, Jan Wimmer Bolte and her husband, Greg, of St Louis ; a sister, Lucille Coleman and her husband Howard of San Angelo. He has four grandchildren, Lance Wimmer, Kate Rumsey, Stephen Rumsey, and Scott Rumsey.
