Wallace Lee Schmidt, Sr.

Wallace Lee Schmidt, Sr., age 57 of Morgan’s Point Resort, died Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Robbins officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6-8:00pm Friday, November 22, 2019 at the funeral home.

Mr. Schmidt was born on June 13, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas. He attended schools in San Antonio and also attended Temple College. He married Kelly Burgess on July 19, 1999 in Temple. Wallace loved his English bulldogs as well as shooting pool. He was preceded in death by his dad, William Arthur Cook; daughters, Billie Jean and Tasha; sister, April Marie and brother Don.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Kelly Burgess Schmidt of Morgan’s Point Resort; mom, Betty Cook of Belton; daughters, Robin Leone of Florida, Betty Marie Love of Kerrville, Ashley Marie Schmidt of Lawton, Okla. and Katie Marie Schmidt of Morgan’s Point Resort; sons, Wallace Lee Schmidt, Jr of Temple, William Lee Schmidt of Belton, Jesse Lee Schmidt of Lawton, Okla., Tyler Reese Gannon of South Carolina and Brandon Lee Schmidt of Morgan’s Point Resort; sister, Diana Garcia; brothers, Steven Lee Schmidt, William Arthur Cook, Jr. and William Corey Cook; and eleven grandchildren.
