Yarbrough Dowell, Jr. Yarbrough "Jr" Dowell was a man of towering stature, with penetrating blue eyes that could look right through you, and into your soul. His handshake was so firm, you knew he could crush your bones if he so wished. He wore Stetson cowboy hats and ostrich skin boots, like no other. From the moment anyone laid eyes on him, they knew he was a "Texan" and a "man among men", that commanded respect.
He was a hunter and fisherman and loved to trade great "fish" stories! If you knew him, you know what that means! He was a true adventurer, outdoorsman, and great carpenter. He was also a proud family man, the pillar, the rock and the foundation of our family.
He was admired, respected and loved. His passing and irreplaceable loss will be felt deeply by those who knew and loved him. He will be forever missed by all. It has been an honor to know him, and to call him son, brother, husband, uncle, cousin, friend, our PaPa and our Daddy.
Memorial service will be held 2 pm Saturday, February 16, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, Temple, Texas.
