Zerline (Butler) Scott

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, with the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Zerline was born April 14, 1930, in Troy, Texas, to parents, Clem Bazil and Susan Fronie (Hargrove) Butler. She attended Bruceville-Eddy High School and was a long-term resident of Temple. On March 27, 1953, she married Douglas Scott, who preceded her in death on July 19, 2011.

She was a faithful member of First Assembly of God in Troy. Zerline found great joy in spending time with her family, especially playing card games and dominoes. She cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed reading and working jigsaw puzzles.

Zerline was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Scott; son, Malcolm Scott; parents; her twin brother, Eugene Butler, and brothers James Butler, Tilmon Butler, and Charles Butler; sisters, Grenita Crigger and Edna Gan.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammie (Scott) Darst and husband Michael of Eddy; son, Robert Scott and wife Eileen of Temple; grandchildren, Cody Darst, Joshua Darst, and Kevin Darst, all of Eddy, Texas, Kyle Darst and wife Lindsay of Beaumont, California, Jeff Scott and wife Jodi of Edmond, Oklahoma, Justin Scott of College Station, Texas, and Wendi Calcote and husband Jim of Bridgeport, Texas; great-grandchildren, Anderson and Heidi Scott, Maverick Fronterhouse, and Stetson Franzoy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Cody Darst, Joshua Darst, Kevin Darst, Jeff Scott, Justin Scott, and Maverick Fronterhouse. Honorary pallbearers are Stetson Franzoy, Anderson Scott, Kyle Darst and Wendi Calcote.
