Renee was born on April 27, 1977, in Andrews, Texas, to Charles and Tonya Donohoe. Growing up, she lived in several Texas towns, including Denver City, Andrews, Victoria, Burton, Emory, and Troy. After college, Renee’s journey took her to Germany, back to Victoria, then to Houston, Hewitt, Waco, Robinson, and ultimately back to Troy, which she made her home.
Renee was a natural athlete. She played volleyball and basketball at Troy High School and earned a basketball scholarship to Temple College, where she played for one year. She later attended massage therapy school and worked as a massage therapist for several years before earning her real estate license and selling homes for D.R. Horton. Renee also owned several successful businesses throughout her life. A true entrepreneur, she had a gift for sales and a personality that drew people to her. With her friendly smile and easy conversation, she could talk to anyone. She was a quick learner with a talent for home improvement and could fix or create just about anything.
Renee’s children and grandchildren were her whole world. She loved watching them excel in school, athletics, and their many interests. She was famously the loudest parent in the bleachers when watching her daughter play basketball. Whether through thoughtful gifts, playful pranks, or everyday moments, everything Renee did was filled with effort, intention, and love.
She loved board and card games and was extremely competitive. She enjoyed scented candles and soft blankets. Halloween was her favorite holiday, easily recognized by the skeletons climbing all over her roof each October and the many skeleton decorations throughout her home. She loved dressing up and proudly passed that love for Halloween on to her children.
Renee loved to travel and dreamed of seeing many places around the world. She cherished her time living in Germany, where she explored nearby countries, and also enjoyed traveling to Mexico, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Arizona, New York City, and Las Vegas. In 2023, Renee purchased an RV and created some of her family’s favorite memories by taking them on multiple road trips, including Spring Break in Pensacola, Florida; a road trip through New Mexico, Utah, and Idaho; and a two-week adventure to the Northeast with stops in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Newark, Ohio, Salem, Massachusetts, and Niagara Falls, New York. She especially loved visiting her grandchildren in Andrews, Texas, and spending time with one of her best friends, Ashley Blake, and her children, McLain, Aubrey, and Grant, in Ogden, Utah.
Renee met her best friend, Jennifer Holloway, on the first day of eighth grade at Troy Middle School, in front of the old middle school gym. From that day forward, their friendship remained a constant in Renee’s life. They especially loved traveling together and attending concerts, including performances by Morgan Wallen, Kane Brown, Granger Smith, and Teddy Swims. Renee enjoyed watching all sports competitions, but she especially loved Texas Rangers games.
Renee is survived by her children, Nicholas Gordon, McLain Villarreal, Zander Randolph, and Ashlyn Randolph; her parents, Charles and Tonya Donohoe; her siblings, Tracy Deitzel, Tucker (Misty) Donohoe, and Taylor (Brianne) Donohoe; her grandchildren, Kenedi and Nolan Silvas; her nephews, Kade, Jake, and Tyler Donohoe; and her best friends, Jennifer Holloway and Ashley Blake.
She was preceded in death by all of her grandparents.
