

Alan H. Silvani, 70, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Wednesday November 16, 2016 at AcuteCare Specialty Hospital at Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood. Born in Jersey City, Alan lived in Belford, NJ for many years before moving to Toms River in 1985. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. Alan worked at the Lily-Tulip Cup Corporation in Holmdel, NJ from 1967 to 1982 starting as a fork lift driver and advancing to a supervisor. Alan then worked as a school teacher for over 15 years at the Monmouth Career Center in Freehold, NJ.
Alan was predeceased by his parents Alphonse and Muriel Silvani and his brother Kenneth Silvani. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Joyce Powell Silvani; daughter Donna Maertens and her husband David, son Alan H. Silvani, Jr, daughter Victoria Beveridge and son Stephen Beveridge; five brothers, Wayne, Bruce, Richie, Barry and Stacey Silvani and is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. Military Honors will be rendered at 5:30 PM.
