

Jim (as he was affectionately known) was born March 2, 1936, to Catherine and Bernard Giesler.
He was the fourth of five children. Jim spent his childhood in Elizabeth, NJ, where he attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and Saint Patrick’s High School.
Jim spent over 30 years at the General Motors plant located in Linden, NJ, eventually becoming a shift superintendent. Upon moving to Silver Ridge North in Toms River he became a volunteer first aid squad member for many years.
Jim (and Carolyn, his loving wife, deceased) was a proud father of four children, a grandfather to five, and great-grandfather to one. He was blessed to be part of a large and loving family.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Cathy and Greg Spencer of Tennent, NJ, Debra and Douglas Darcy, and Mary and Peter Henry, all residing in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. His son Patrick is deceased. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Gillian, Caitlin, Justine, Janelle, and Kayla and his great-granddaughter: Fable. Jim is also survived by his sister Catherine Giesler. Deceased are his sisters Mary, Bernadette, and Dorothy. Jim was also fortunate to have many loving nieces and nephews.
A 12:00 Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday July 23, 2025 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church 130 St. Maximilian Lane Toms River, NJ 08757 to be followed by a 1:30 repast held at The Villa in Toms River.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations may be made to any children’s charity.
