

Dennis Crowley, beloved spouse, father, grandfather, friend and retired Lieutenant of the Old Bridge Police Department, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025 at the age of 77. He was born in the Bronx, New York on October 26, 1948 and moved to Toms River, New Jersey in 1978 and after retirement resided in Lewes, DE.
Dennis was a veteran of the US Navy and served on the U.S.S. GW Carver from 1964 to 1968.
He was hired by the Old Bridge Police Department on January 4, 1971 and dedicated 35 years of his life to law enforcement serving with honor, courage and compassion. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant on May, 17, 2006.
Dennis was predeceased by his father, Edward Crowley, his mother Marjorie Crowley and his brother Edward Crowley, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Sommers; his three daughters, Stacey O’Carroll, Heather Crowley and Kimberly Crowley; his grandchildren Kaitlyn O’Carroll, Collin Wohnus and Tanner O’Carroll and his son-in-law Brian O’Carroll.
Beyond his service, Dennis enjoyed spinning the slot machines and he was a huge fan of Nascar Racing, especially the late legendary Dale Earnhardt.
Dennis will be remembered for his huge personality and commitment to family and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday November 25, 2025 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A funeral service celebrating Dennis’ life will begin at 8:00 pm. Cremation will be private. Inurnment will be at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Old Bridge Police Department P.B.A. Local 127.
