“Donnie”, as he was affectionally known, was born on January 20, 1940 to Patrick & Josephine Cirri. He spent his formative years growing up in West New York, NJ with his younger brother Eddie, sharing meals with their numerous cousins, picnicking in Palisade Interstate Park and dancing the night away at countless sock hops & “Our Lady of Libera” dances.
He married the love of his life, Lina, in 1967 and moved to Tappan, NY where they raised their son Christopher & daughter Jennifer. It was in this home where he routinely hosted holidays, celebrations and family Sunday dinners, maintaining the bonds of family that he held so dear.
His friends & family knew him as the life of the party, often wearing ridiculous wigs, pulling out his dentures or making silly jokes that would have everyone doubled-over in laughter. Throughout these gatherings, his beloved dogs could be found dutifully at his feet or in his lap. In his later years, there was nothing that made him happier or prouder than spending time with his grandchildren, Devin & Gavin.
Donnie was an accomplished travel executive, extending his characteristic warmth and humor to his professional life. Over his 40-year career, he grew the business of several international airlines and resorts. His achievements led him to be named by Governor Mario Cuomo as the first ever Director of Tourism for Rockland County, NY. Of course, his love for travel extended to his personal life, including several trips back to Italy, where he maintained connections with extended family. In his retirement, he moved to Holiday City where he continued bringing friends and family together, including organizing a 60th reunion of his Memorial High School classmates.
As Dominick was a pious & generous man, his family requests that donations be made to David’s Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation in lieu of flowers.
