

Douglas Paul Timko Sr., 76, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away on April 16, 2026. Born March 21, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, Douglas built a life defined by steady devotion to those he loved, protector of the ones he loved, a generous spirit, and a quiet strength that inspired confidence in family and friends alike.
From his earliest years in Brooklyn, Douglas carried forward the values of hard work and perseverance. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree and was a survivor of 9/11—an experience that underscored the depth of his resilience and the patient, compassionate way he moved through the world thereafter.
Douglas worked in the foreign exchange market, bringing diligence and dedication to his profession. Those who knew him best will remember not only his work ethic, but also the kindness and consideration he extended so naturally—qualities that made him both respected and genuinely beloved.
On April 18, 1976, Douglas married Jerilyn, beginning a marriage that spanned 50 beautiful years. Above all else, Douglas was a wonderful father and husband—devoted, steady, and deeply cherished. He was also loved by many friends, drawn to his generous heart and the calm encouragement he offered so freely.
In his personal time, Douglas found enjoyment and peace in playing golf, hunting, and watching golf. A car enthusiast as well, he appreciated craftsmanship and care—interests that reflected the same patience and attention he brought to the people and responsibilities that mattered most to him.
He will be missed by his wife Jerilyn, his four children, Desiree Danesi, Douglas Jr., Kimberley and Alivia Timko. Douglas also leaves behind his seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday from 4 PM to 7 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ 08755.
Douglas will be remembered with enduring love and gratitude—for his compassion, his steadfast presence, and the inspirational example he set through a life lived with devotion and grace.
