Edward Allen

Edward Allen, age 86, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Paterson, NJ, he lived in Wayne, NJ and Hobe Sound, FL before moving to Toms River, NJ. Ed was a loving husband to his wife, Peg, for 66 years, and a devoted father and grandfather. He was a United States Navy veteran. Ed was a graduate of William Paterson University before being appointed to the Paterson Fire Department in 1965. He retired in 1995 as a Battalion Chief.

Ed is predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Elizabeth Allen, his brothers, William and Richard, and his son, Bobby. Surviving are his wife, Peggy, his daughter-in-law, Marianne, his son, Christopher and wife, Bonnie, and daughters, Lynn and Beth and her husband, Matt as well as eight grandchildren, Aaron, Brett, Allison, Ethan, Caitlin, Jay, Courtney, and Camryn.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing on Tuesday July 22, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. Visiting Hours will be held again from 8:45 am to 9:30 am on Wednesday July 23, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08753 followed by entombment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery and Mausoleum, Toms River 62 Cedar Grove Rd. Toms River, NJ 08753. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
