

Edward T. Palange Sr., 84, of Toms River passed away on Monday December 24th, 2012 at home with his loving wife at his bedside. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Ridgefield Park prior to moving to Toms River in 2005. Edward’s pride and joy was his family and especially his grandchildren. He was an Army Veteran who served during the Korean War and also played minor league baseball for the Allentown Cardinals. Edward served as a printers apprentice prior to working for Westinghouse in Jersey City as an Elevator repairman for 20 years and Flynn-Hill in Long Island for 10 years before retiring in 1990. He was an elected official of the I.U.E. in Jersey City and was active with the Ridgefield Park Senior Club, Men’s Club of Holiday City, C.O.C.R. Italian American Club and he worked Bingo for 6 years at Holiday City South. He also volunteered for many years for the Ridgefield Park Volunteer Ambulance Corp and was a Eucharist Minister for St. Francis Church in Ridgefield Park. He was predeceased by his brother Harry. Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years Josephine (DeMarco), son Edward T. Jr. and wife Linda Palange of Washingtonville, NY, daughter Joanne and husband John Librie of New Fairfield, CT, sister Elvera and husband Sal Tagliernie of Toms River, grandchildren Edward T. III and wife Jessica Palange of Stanford, CT, Erica L. and husband John Stadnyk of NYC, David C. and Erin Palange of Erie, PA, John M. Librie of New Fairfield, CT, Michael V. Palange of Washingtonville, NY and Michael A. Librie of New Fairfield, CT. Visitation will be Thursday December 27th, 2012 from 7-9pm and Friday December 28th, 2012 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 29th, 2012 at 10:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church in Toms River. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River.
