Elise L. Berry

Elise (Lee) L. Berry, 87, of Silver Ridge Park Westerly, Berkeley passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 10, 2010. Born in Union City, NJ she previously resided in Bogota, NJ before moving to Toms River in 1983.

Mrs. Berry was a medical secretary before raising her family and also worked as a part-time office manager. She was past president of the Bogota Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Silver Ridge Park Women’s Club.

Elise was predeceased by her parents, Theodore and Emily Lawler and her sister Rose McDermott. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Robert, her son Robert and his wife Pam of Centreville, VA and her daughter Lois and her husband Gary Kohles of Ortley Beach, NJ. She was lovingly known as “Nana” to her five grandchildren, Ryan and Lauren Berry and Gary, Brian and Kristen Kohles and “Gigi” to her three great grandchildren; Jason, Brielle and Samantha.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 12th from 4 to 8pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Van Dyke Hospice Center, Community Medical Center Foundation, 99 Route 37 W, Toms River, NJ 08755 or the Silver Ridge Park First Aid Squad, 39 Millbrook Dr., Toms River, NJ 08757.
