

She was predeceased by her husband Edward; father and mother Rayner Mobsby, Sr. and Bertha, and three brothers Rayner, Jr, Edward and George. She is survived by two sons, Howard and Bridget Schmidt and Stephen Schmidt; two daughters Susan and Donald Adams and Janet and Daniel Torsiello; seven grandchildren Christopher Adams and fiancee Karen Giblin, Heather and Sean Steuber, Donald Adams, Tracy and Jason Ehresman, Daniel and Erica Torsiello, Emily Schmidt and Tara Schmidt, and 15 great-grandchildren. Additionally, Evelyn has been unwaveringly supported and loved by her lifelong friends Marion Oddo, Joan Frederiksen, Peggy Gerding and cousin Arlene Solda.
Evelyn was a devoted and active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Toms River, NJ for 46 years serving the parish as a Sunday School administrator and teacher, altar guild member, participant in the Couples Club and member of The Daughters of the King. Evelyn spent a vast majority of her professional career as an Administrative Assistant/Stenographer for multiple companies. She was a lifelong New York Yankees fan who had the pleasure of seeing Joe DiMaggio grace the Yankee Stadium outfield in person and enjoyed bowling in the Thursday Morning Coffee League for many years at Playdrome Lanes in Toms River.
Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. Service and interment of ashes will be Monday July 31, 10 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 415 Washington St., Toms River, NJ 08753.
