I remember Frances as the quintessential mom on the block.   She made us lunch, brought out glasses of iced tea when we were hanging out on the front stoop, kept an eye on us when we played in the pool, let us build forts in the backyard (and supplied the sheets).  She was an animal lover and I remember her beagle, Ginny, stealing money out of her pocketbook and Frances chasing her around the house while Ann Marie and I fell over laughing.  I have many fond childhood memories of Frances and 110th Street in Richmond Hill.  My deepest condolences to Ann Marie and Jim Connell - wonderful neighbors!

Where do I begin?  There are so many fond memories of  my life in Bayside growing up.  Aunt Frances, Uncle Jim & Ann Marie played such a big part of this.  I will always remember Aunt Frances' compassion, humor and concern she showed for all - and above all her great homemaking skills, especially her linen closet.  Tom and I, along with our family, will cherish our memories.

Aunt Frances will truly be missed.  I have many fond memories of her while I was growing up...visiting her in Queens.  The first image that comes to my mind is Aunt Frances with a drink in one hand, a cigarette in another and talking about going to Atlantic City to gamble. That image will always bring a smile to my face.  I also remember some nice visits in NJ....one visit around St. Patrick's Day she made corned beef and cabbage....delicious!  But, it wasn't all about the food....it was about gathering around the table with family and enjoying each other's company.  We certainly lost one of the good ones.

Growing up my Aunt Frances was my second mother. I remember spending a great deal of time with Aunt Frances, Uncle Jim and Ann Marie. My Mom and I visited there weekly and I often stayed at their home over the weekend. Over the summer I would stay with them for a week or more swimming with Ann Marie, only stopping when Aunt Frances called us in for lunch. My Aunt Frances taught me how to play cards. I also learned about horse racing as I tagged along to Aqueduct, Belmont and Saratoga horse tracks, but I am afraid to admit that I was not a very good student. Over the last few years I have not stayed in as close contact as I should have, but I thought about her often. I have lots of great memories and will never forget her. I will try not to be too sad that she is gone, rather I will try to be happy as she is having a whiskey sour with my Mom.

Mr. Connell & Ann Marie, I am truly sorry for your loss.  Although I never met Frances Connell, I had the honor & pleasure of knowing and working with her daughter Ann Marie for many years.  The kindness, compassion and determination that Ann Marie has is a testament to the way she was raised by both her Mom & Dad. There is an old saying: The things you do for yourself are gone when you are gone, but the things you do for others remain as your legacy."  Rest in Peace Mrs. Connell.

Our deepest sympathy to the Connell Family.  Although we only knew Frances a short time , she will be missed.  We had the pleasure of meeting her and Jim at the Chelsea.  We will never forget how kind she was to our Dad, James.  What a wonderful lady, God Bless her and may she rest in peace.

I want to extend my condolences to Mr. Connell, AnnMarie and the Connell family on your loss. Unfortunately I never met Frances Connell but I had the pleasure of working with AnnMarie. It is said that a tree is known by its fruit and with that thought I know that she must have been an absolutely wonderful, kind, compassionate and intelligent woman. My prayers are with your family. God's Peace to the Connell family.

With sadness we say goodbye to Mrs. Connell.  She was a sweet and gentle woman, who always took the time to chat with Ann Marie's friends.  I will remember her fondly.

 Heaven will have to create a row of slot machines. Mrs. Connell was a remarkable woman who will live on through the love and kindness she brought to everyone she touched. I will always remember great times with a smile...

So sorry to hear about Mrs.Connell's passing. I knew her almost my entire life. Both Mr & Mrs Connell were so kind to me from the moment we met.
I remember our first play date (as they call it now), Ann Marie. It was in the winter, 2nd grade maybe 3rd. The weather changed & your mom gave me some red "shoe boots" to wear home. I had never worn anything but hand me down galoshes. Truth be told they were a bit small but I was thrilled just the same & still remember my delight when your mom gave them to me. I recall how she always used two tea Lipton tea bags so she would have a good strong cup!
What really brought tears to my eyes today was remembering how she pronounced your name. It was always with the accent on the final syllable & always with such love even when you were in trouble. 
I happen to talk to my sister Ginny today & we both remembered how much your mom liked my baby sister. As we grew older your mom & I often commiserated on the trials, joys & endless humour of sibling relations. I still recall her warning "It doesn't get better as you get older. It gets worse!!"
Though I haven't seen her in quite a while I will remember her always & with love.
