

Helen B. Wolanska Bidnick, age 101, formerly of Toms River NJ passed away on July 8, 2024 at the Spring Oak Assisted Living Center in Lanoka Harbor NJ . Helen previously had been a long term resident of the Veterans Home in Menlo Park since 2013.
Helen was born in Paterson, NJ on November 7, 1922. She was the youngest child of Katherine Bielska-Sitarski-Wolanski and the only child of her father Lucian Wolanski. She was a graduate of St. Stephens School and Paterson Central High School class of 1940.
Helen worked for Winer in Paterson NJ for several years and then In 1943 she married Emil J. Bidnick . Helen & Emil eventually settled in Elmwood Park NJ in 1952. She went on to work at Lobel’s in Elmwood Park before taking a position at Gimbel Brothers Paramus in 1960 and continued to be employed there until her retirement in 1973.
Helen and her family moved to Clarks Green PA in 1973 and remained there until 1987 when they retired to Toms River.
Helen was a passionate Pinochle player and a devout Catholic. Her friends will always remember her for being a kind and caring individual.
She is survived by three daughters Donna K. Miller of Tobyhanna PA, Arlene Gillesheimer of Hawthorne NJ and Lisa Lombardi of Mahwah NJ and one devoted son Richard A. Bidnick of Forked River, NJ. She has 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Her late husband Emil J. Bidnick predeceased her in 2015.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ. A Mass will be celebrated at 12 pm on Monday July 15, 2024 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River with interment to follow to Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
