Iris was a remarkable woman whose spirit shone bright for over a century.  Every winter, she traveled from New Jersey to Florida to stay with Andrea and Joe, where the Ivlers eagerly looked forward  to her visit.  Sitting at the kitchen table with a glass of wine, she would share the incredible stories of her long life-always with a warm, ear to ear smile that lit up the room.  She loved cheering for the Yankees, savoring good company, and bring joy to everyone around her.  Her presence was a gift, and her beautiful life will always be cherished.

Sending love and condolences to Andrea, Joe, Joanne, and their families. We've been thinking of the many wonderful memories we've shared with your mom and dad over the years and of how much all of you have meant to us. We shall always remember Aunt Iris’s exceptional warmth, her generosity of spirit, her incredibly sweet disposition, and the love she had for her family. We feel incredibly blessed to have known her, to have shared her company, and we celebrate the incredible life she lived and the amazing person she was. Our family's sole surviving link to generations that have now passed, we shall forever treasure her memory. Wishing you all peace and solace during this difficult time.

We were so sorry to hear of Aunt Iris’s passing. We spent many good times in Cartaret and Toms River with the family. I had many conversations over the years and enjoyed hearing about everyone. She will be deeply missed. Our deepest sympathy to all.

So sorry to hear of her passing. Iris was my godmother, & my mom’s best friend. I will always remember going to Carteret in the summer and swimming in the pool, Gene used to tease me and Iris always came to my rescue.! Like my mom she will be missed.

I never knew her, but my wife, Laura, spoke with her often on the phone.

The fact that she was a Yankees fan has cemented her in my heart forever.

Those 3 words were synonymous with Aunt Iris - always the first thing she said when she spoke with you on the phone .  I’ll miss those wonderful calls and her. I know you and mom  (Eileen on the far right) will watch over us from above.  
The Smith woman are all together again. Xx

My heartfelt condolences to Andrea and all the family.  So sorry to hear of Aunt Iris' passing. We will never forget her kind spirit and her love of life and family. The last time I talked to her was when she phoned me 2 years ago when my son passed away. She knew about the pain we shared as Mothers. The comfort and empathy she gave to me that day will be a gift I will cherish forever in my heart. Love her. 💔
