Joseph W. Decker

Joseph W. Decker age 84 of Holiday Heights, Berkeley Twp. died Tuesday September 6, 2011 at home. He worked for Gulf Oil, Hackensack for 34 years retiring as a real estate marketing agent in 1987. Mr. Decker was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy. He was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe R. C. Church, Berkeley Twp. At Holiday Heights he was active member of the Choir and a member of the community code committee. Mr. Decker was born and lived most of his life in Paterson before moving to Holiday Heights 23 years ago. He was predeceased by his 7 brothers and sisters. Surviving is his wife of 62 years Alice Hahn Decker, 5 children Laura DiLella and her husband James of Ohio, Claire Miller and her husband Michael of Oakridge, NJ, Scott Decker and his wife Karen of California, Alicia Hanock and her husband Edward of Howell, NJ and Robert Decker and his wife Karen of Madison, NJ, 11 grandchildren James, Colleen, Ashley, Erin, Lauren, Brian, Patrick, Carolyn, Shannon, Stephen and Meghan, 1 brother Leonard Deck of California. A Memorial Mass will be offered 1 pm Friday at St. Maximilian Kolbe R. C. Church, Berkeley Twp. Inurnment will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
