

Michael Peter DeNorscio,72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the Center for Hope Hospice with his loving family present. Michael was born in Newark, Nj to Theresa (nee Tordilio) and John DeNorscio in March, 1953.
Michael grew up in Newark before moving to Irvington where he completed his elementary and secondary education and earned his Diploma from Irvington High School. During his youth, Michael was known as a "Dare Devil" and could be coaxed into doing many challenging things. He participated in Little League Baseball and PAL Football during his youth in Irvington. After graduating he developed his skills at bowling alongside his father for many years to come. During his bowling years, Michael scored several 300 Perfect Games and earned numerous trophies and rings to show off his accomplishments. Michael and his dad also enjoyed horse racing and together they would meet friends at various racetracks to enjoy a day at the races. Michael spent many childhood summers vacationing in Seaside Heights with his family where they were always welcoming numerous friends and family to enjoy a big Sunday macaroni dinner and then walk the Boardwalk to play games of chance and of course ride the fast and scary rides. Michael also enjoyed fishing and "dancing".
Michael was employed as a long and short haul truck driver for most of his working life, including Tuscan Dairy, Daybreak Express before retiring from United Windows.
Michael married Mary Margaret Fitzgerald in 1989 and in the following year welcomed their daughter, Neila Rose, into their lives. As a family they enjoyed numerous fun times together both in New Jersey and Sag Harbor, New York with their immediate family members, cousins and friends before Mary's passing in June 2003.
Michael enjoyed watching professional and college sports and wa an avid Jets and Mets fan.
Michael is survived by his beloved daughter Neila, her husband and their family dog Woogie; his sister Rosemarie and husband Buzzy; and numerous beloved cousins and good friends. Michael will be missed by all and remembered for his "big smirky smile".
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 2-6 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ. A funeral mass will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River, 10 am on Monday, September 8, 2025.
