Richard Chiavaro of Toms River, formerly of River Edge, NJ passed away after a long illness. Richie was born in the Bronx and moved to NJ as a teenager. He was a graduate of Dumont High School and served in the United States Army. Richie retired from Globe Shoes in Paramus, NJ in 2009.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marilynn Boese Chiavaro, daughter Nicole Barresi and her husband Paul, granddaughter Gabrielle, daughter Stefanie Maffei and her husband Joe and grandsons Cole and Cooper. Richie was a loving, kind hearted easy going man. He was a dedicated New York sports fan and memorabilia collector. His family and friends are grateful for the time we had with him. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday March 22, 2019 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 23, 2019 at 9:30 am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08757.
