Robert J. Johnston age 94 of Leisure Village West, Manchester Twp. died Tuesday January 23rd at home. He retired from the Navy after 33 in 1973 with the rank of Master Chief and served on all 7 continents and during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Robert was an avid golfer and a Giants and Yankees fan. He was predeceased by his wife Lottie in 1993, his brother William and his granddaughter Jill. Surviving are his son Robert and his wife Linda of Toms River, his daughter Kathleen Baretela of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, 3 grandchildren Jennifer, Jason and John, 5 great grandchildren and his companion Dorothy Kinney. Visiting will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm with a funeral service at 7 pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Rd. Toms River. Cremation will be private.
