Robert Magnuson

Robert Magnuson, 96, of Toms River, NJ passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 peacefully surrounded by his family at his home. Born in New York, NY, he had lived in Union City and North Bergen before moving to Toms River 35 years ago. Robert was a North Bergen Fireman who was with the Fire Department for over 17 years. Robert was also a very skilled freelance Roofer.

Robert was an avid Bowler, enjoyed keeping himself in top physical shape, and spending time with his family. Robert was a WWII Navy Veteran who proudly served his country and became a member of the VFW in Toms River as well as the American Legion.

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Rosemary, his children; Robert J., and his wife Francine, Dorothy Sabarese and her husband Robert, his two grandsons; Kenny Sabarese and Gregory Sabarese (wife Rachel). Also surviving are his three great grandchildren; McKenna, Elijah and Rosemary.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 11 am to 1 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Committal service along with Interment will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
