

Rocco Angelo Battista, 90, of Toms River and formerly of West Caldwell, NJ, passed away on Nov. 6, 2014. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Teresa; three daughters Diane, Barbara and Lorraine; sister Theodora Nosek; and brother Joseph Battista. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Stacey Donnelly, Matthew and Ryan Chabala and one great grandchild, Preston Donnelly. He is predeceased by his parents Corsignana and Bartholomeo Battista and brothers Ralph and Angelo Battista. Rocco proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a decorated WWII veteran. He worked for 30 years as an electronics cost estimator for Singer-Kearfott in Little Falls and then at Allied Signal in Teterboro, NJ, until his retirement in 1990. He loved spending time with family, country and western dancing, gardening and relaxing on the beach. "Rocky" will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Visitation will be Sunday November 16th, 2014 from 2-6pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 17th, 2014 at 11:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church in Berkeley Township, NJ. Interment will follow at the New Jersey Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Rocco to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund at www.curealz.org.
