Rosemarie Jehamy, a resident of Lakewood, NJ, passed away last week while spending time in Hudson, FL. She was eighty years old and is survived by her sweetheart, Allen; her loving children, Matthew, Jennifer, and Leila; her brother, James; and five beloved grandchildren, Rose, Laura, Joseph, Luke, and Brooke. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward who she was married to for 40 years.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Rosemarie moved with her husband and young family to Long Island where she spent many happy years, raising her family and living on the water where she enjoyed boating and was an active member of her church and community. She pursued a college degree and became a certified Social Worker and alcohol and drug counselor.
Rosemarie moved to Lakewood in her retirement years and, as an active member of her parish, volunteered her time and energy to teaching religious education to children, an experience she truly enjoyed.
Family and children were the cornerstone of Rosemarie’s life. She loved to travel, dine out, visit Atlantic City, and attend the theater. She was always on the move, always seeking out fun with beloved Al, whether it was live music on the Jersey Shore or visiting the Florida beaches. She cherished maintaining lifelong friendships and held her childhood friends dear. Rosemarie was most content, though, when she had time with her family on the calendar, always looking forward to the next get-together, holiday, birthday party or barbeque. Playing Scrabble or whatever game the kids chose, surrounded by laughing family, was where she was at her happiest.
