

Born July 6, 1957, in Brooklyn NY, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Maria Scala Modica. He grew up in Brooklyn, graduating from William Floyd High School. On July 9, 1977, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Sharon, with whom he shared 48 wonderful years. Together, they moved to West Keansburg, NJ, in 1990, where they resided for 30 years until settling in Toms River, NJ, December 2019.
With a love of cars, more specifically Cadillacs, he worked as a Service Director in the Automotive Industry. He always found peace spending time on his boat, enjoying his time on the water. Salvatore was an avid cigar enthusiast and appreciated the company that came with them.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Michael “Jojo” Modica.
Surviving is his wife, Sharon Modica; his children Salvatore Modica III (Jennifer), Dawn Vaber (Eric), and Michael Modica (Amanda); his grandchildren Christian, Carly Rose, Matthew, and Elizabeth Sofia; sisters Concetta “Tina” Jones and Antoinette Carpenzano, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A funeral mass will be held 10 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St Maximilian Ln, Toms River, NJ 08757.
