Sam Denti, 40, of Toms River, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 23, 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Secaucus, NJ, Sam was raised in Bergenfield and attended grammar school at St. Mary’s Dumont. Sam moved to Toms River at 14 and graduated from Toms River North High School in 2003. Sam was a Heart Transplant Recipient, receiving her miracle second chance at life on September 28, 2013. Sam used this gift to be a fierce advocate for organ donation by raising awareness in high schools across the state and founding the New Heart New Hope Ladies.
Sam was a light that burned so bright and had an incredible way of making people feel incomparably important and loved. Sam had a compassion for others that ran so deep and was there for anyone at any time. Sam embodied the true meaning of paying it forward. Sam's generosity was demonstrated through Sam’s numerous interactions with many, many people from all aspects of life.
As we hold Sam in our hearts and memories from this day forward, we commit ourselves to carry Sam with us always. We honor Sam through the following promises: to treat her friends and family members the way Sam did, with a caring heart and through honest interaction; to move through life with quick wit, a generous laugh, and a brilliant smile; and to hold our hearts open to allow others into Sam's life with the intention of creating and honoring family.
Sam was predeceased by her Father, Peter John Denti; her best friend and the “world’s cutest grandma,” Barbara Walsh; her Grandpa, Dennis Walsh; and her Aunt and "BFF," Nancy Gaydos. Sam is survived by the love of her life & soulmate, Lindsay; her "bonus" boys, Lucas and Noah; and Sam's only four legged love, Finn. Sam is also survived by her "Mama," Laura Denti, and Laura’s husband, Frank Tramontana; Sam's beloved brother, Anthony “Boop Boop” Denti; her pride and joy and Nephew, Anthony “Magoo” Denti; Sam's dearest Godson, Vinny "Chenzy" Hernandez; and Sam’s cousin and first “little brother,” RJ "Archie Bawlz" Hernandez. Sam also had a tribe of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends who Sam considered Family!
