

William V. Ingoglia, of Silver Ridge Park Westerly, Berkeley, NJ formerly of Hackensack, NJ passed away at the age of 91 on October 17, 2015 after one of his toughest battles - Alzheimer’s. A World War II veteran, who proudly served his country through five major battles in the European theater, including Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He always considered the true heroes the boys who never returned home. Although a man of few words regarding his military days, his family and friends considered him a true hero unto himself; with a limitless love and devotion for his country, friends and his family. He was active in the VFW and was a Past Commander of VFW #10183 – Hackensack. He remained true to his comrades attending many reunions in his senior years as a member of the Old Hickory Unit.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rose (Capirossi), daughter and son-in-law, Marianne and Craig Veprek, son and daughter-in-law, William and Linda Ingoglia, five grandchildren – Janet (Ryan) Magley, Diana (Kieran) Moran, Paul Veprek and David Veprek (and his fiancé Tina Steck), Marc (Erin) Ingoglia, and Eric Ingoglia; five great grandchildren, Jake and Lauren Magley; Emma, Kate and Maggie Moran. He is also survived by his brother, Jack Ingoglia and predeceased by his sister, Jenny D’Arminio, both of Hackensack.
Bill was a member of the Old Hickory 30th Infantry, Hackensack Troast. A.C., Usher and Member of the Holy Name Society of St. Francis - Hackensack, Past Commander of VFW Post #10183, member of the VFW Post of Silver Ridge Park Westerly #8352 ,and the Men’s Club of Silver Ridge Park Westerly.
A special thank you to Bill’s extended family, John and Ellen Veprek and their children Mary Ellen Madden and Kate Stokes, who provided love to his family over the years, and strength and comfort during these past couple months.
Also, a thank you to Team # 9 of the Barnabas Health Van Dyke Hospice unit who served with professionalism and compassion in Bill’s last days.
Visiting hours will be held at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, Tuesday, October 20th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Maximilian Kolbe RCC, 130 Maximilian Kolbe Lane, Toms River, Wednesday, October 21st at 10:30 am. Entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River.
