

Born and raised in Newark, NJ, to the late Thomas & Theresa McTigue, William moved to Toms River about 50 years ago.
He was a Korean War Air Force Veteran who proudly served his country. He worked in Personnel with Ciba-Geigy Chemical Plant for thirty years.
William married the love of his life, Lena, in 1953, remaining together until her passing in January 2016. He was one of six siblings and was predeceased by his four brothers, Joe, Jimmy, John, and Tommy, and his sister Mary. He was also predeceased by his daughter Susan Fishbourne. William is survived by his son, Robert McTigue, and his wife Ann, his grandchildren; Amanda Kopceuch and her husband John, Stephen McTigue, Brandon McTigue, and Carla McTigue. Also surviving are his two great-grandchildren, Lena and Gavin Kopceuch.
William loved going to Atlantic City and playing the slots. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching Westerns on TV, as well as Game Shows. Most importantly he loved his time spent with his two great grandchildren Lena and Gavin, whom were the life of his life.
He had a heart of gold and was very loving.
William will be laid to rest on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 11:30 am at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ.
A beloved, devoted, and thoughtful man, William's legacy will be cherished by all who knew him.
