Bruce was born, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Melvin (Mel) and Kathleen (Colleen nee Devine) Griffin. At age 3, Bruce and the family returned to Canada, settling in Montreal, Quebec, where Mel continued his work for the Seagram Co. Bruce graduated from Montreal’s Loyola High School, in 1977, and completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Western Ontario in 1985. His working career included 10 years with the Exclusive Affairs / Event Rentals group and then, post-Covid, he joined Divine Furniture Rentals (DFR) where he had continued to work for the past 3 years.
On August 26, at the age of 65, Bruce passed away doing work that he loved, in a place that he was loved and respected...working on the floor of the DFR warehouse with his colleagues and friends.
His family is so very thankful that he was not alone during his health crisis and that several of his cousins were present to help him and support him in his final moments. Bruce was a kind-hearted, hard-working and gentle man. He was blessed with tremendous intelligence, combined with a wonderful sense of humour and was forever loyal to his family and many friends.
Bruce was the beloved brother of Lorna (Roger), Richard (Debbie), David (Elisa) and Patrick ([deceased] Francoise). He adored his nieces and nephews Matthew, Kelly , Shannon, Patrick, Paolo and Paloma, with unconditional love. He took great joy in watching his great-nephews Chase and Brett grow and in meeting his first grand-niece, Amelia, earlier this year.
Bruce will be sorely missed by so many whose lives he deeply affected. He was one of a kind. May you rest in peace, dear sweet soul!!
