It is with considerable sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dolores Scheidegger on February 24, 2025, at the age of 85. Dolores passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Dolores was born on June 29, 1939, in Germany to Margot and Peter Braf. She met Jean-Pierre in Zurich, Switzerland, where they married. Dolores and Jean-Pierre settled in Canada in the early eighties, where they built a wonderful life with their two children in a community of loving and loyal friends.
A beautiful loving mother, wife and grandmother, Dolores is survived by her husband, Jean-Pierre Scheidegger and her two children, Jean-Jacques and Nathalie Scheidegger, her brother, Dieter Braf, her daughter-in-law, Sharon Scheidegger and her grandchildren, Layla and Jaden Scheidegger.
Dolores inspired us to persevere when challenged with adversity. A three-time breast cancer survivor, she prevailed with grace and an unbreakable spirit. When a cervical fracture threatened her will, she triumphed. She had a passion for quilting and cooking and generously bestowed her artistry and experience upon her family and friends. The world is brighter for having had Dolores in it, and we, her family and friends, are grateful for her love and the time we shared together. Dolores will be dearly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday February 28th, 2025 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Breast Cancer Canada, in Dolores’ honour.
