Her loving son Bill held her closely for the last 20 minutes of her life. And passed her on to a beautiful place with no pain and all love. May she Rest in Peace. Elpida‘s only child, Bill, (with assistance) provided extraordinary care in her own home in recent years. As a result, her life was prolonged, and her quality of life was high (given her age). Bill sacrificed, living the commandment to honour thy mother (and father).
Elpida is predeceased by her husband, Tom Goulios, and her beloved mother, Thomai Zolis. She’s also predeceased by her beloved mother-in-law, Katherine Goulios. She now joins her deceased siblings in a special place of love. Namely, Athina, Michael, and Peter.
Elpida came to Canada in 1955. She got married in Toronto to Tom. They were so happy to bring into this world their child Bill. They loved their son so very much for all those years. She loved her son to her dying breath.
Elpida was a down-to-earth Farmer in Greece. In Canada, she worked many years in the Hospitality Industry. She took early retirement to take care of her husband. In her life, she loved to cook, sew, and was a good singer. Family was number one. Her deep Orthodox faith sustained her to the end. She was strong, resilient, tenacious, and overcame several life challenges. She was an inspiration to her son, who holds her in his heart today and will always.
