Hilaria Quibael Salandanan aged 96, went to sleep in Jesus on April 18th, 2020, in Brampton, Ontario.
She was the daughter of Alberto Quibael and Marta Baon. She was born on October 21, 1923, in Bailen, Cavite, Philippines.
She was blessed with a large and loving family. She was preceded by her husband, Alejandro Salandanan and two children, Gerson and Miriam (Reuben, also preceded).
She is survived by her six children, Levi (Eleanor), Rodello (Anastacia), Eleanor (Gabriel), Blesita (Dante), Alejandro (Ester) and Richard (Yolanda); seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maria Quibael Malimban. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Fondly known as Inay or Nanay, she was a strong, devote and loving woman who always strove to teach about God’s love, and instill prayer and trust in the Lord. Her favourite biblical passage is Psalm 16:5-11.
O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;
You maintain my lot.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Yes, I have a good inheritance.
I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel;
My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope.
For You will not leave my soul in hell,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Until that resurrection morning, sleep well our dear Inay/Nanay.
