John was our chemist in residence at the Spills Action Centre and it was comforting to get his advice on possible reactions of spilled chemicals or combustion products for fires of chemical products. We were fortunate to have John on staff! He was well liked by our staff. RIP John.

I was very fortunate to work with John at the Spills Action Centre.  Whenever an environmental spill involving chemicals happened and John was on shift it was great to be able to rely on his knowledge of chemistry! John was well liked by staff and a pleasure to work with. I was lucky to have known John and extend my condolences to all the family.

Dear Annerose, Michael (Melissa), Daniel (Erin), Marie and Siena,

Our deepest condolences for the sudden passing of John. We were all so shocked to hear of the loss of our cousin. We are so thankful that we had the opportunity to visit with Annerose and John when Hazel and Gordon invited us for a family reunion at their home in Beaumont, AB  in 2019.  Thinking of you all and wish for your beautiful memories of John to give you strength during this very difficult time.

Deepest condolences to all the loved ones of John. Many hours spent together chatting about life between calls at the Spills Action Centre and as some of my former colleagues already mentioned he loved to talk about his family the most and how proud he was. Other past experiences which come to mind included discussing sailing, lab work when he was at University and of course financial investing, John also was a great person to share laugh with when things were quiet at work and the witching hours were at hand . A very smart, kind and intelligent man who will be greatly missed.

I was deeply saddened to hear of John's passing. My deepest condolences to the entire family. John was a wonderful and cheerful person with a "never give up" attitude. He will be greatly missed, especially at the tennis court.

We enjoyed many hours on the tennis courts and John’s enthusiasm, sense of humour and friendship will be missed by all his tennis buddies. He always expressed his love for his family and was clearly proud of each and every of them.

I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to John's friends and family. I am so sad to hear about John's passing. I worked with John for many years at the Spills Action Centre. I enjoyed his conversation and company very much. I remember he liked to talk about investing, tennis and his family - but his family was his favourite topic by far! When he spoke about his family, the love and pride he felt was so obvious! The office got frequent updates about how everyone was doing (school, French horn, weddings and babies)! My fondest memories are of John sharing photos and stories about his grandchildren! John, you will be very missed.

It was nothing short of shock hearing about you passing. Memories of the many, many conversations of all topics flooded in again and i was truly saddened that you were gone. John, you were so passionate about Tennis and biking, big talks about chemistry and crossword puzzles. However the greatest joy and deepest concerns came from talking about your most treasured in life, your family. Your boys were certainly your biggest treasures which amplified when the grandbabies came into the world. We talked so often about your sister and dad out west and told the most amazing memories you had with them.

My deepest sympathies to John's family and dear friends.  I have many fond memories of John from work, and our chats about a Dutch store he and I both new in my home town of Richmond Hill.  I would often bring him licorice coins from the store.   I can remember his greatest smiles came when he talked about his grandchildren - he would draw you over to his favorite spot in the office and show off pictures.  I enjoyed just talking with John,  his sparkling wit, professorial  mind, and funny  stories.    He was just getting started on his next phase of life, and he is gone too soon.   Thank you for sharing pictures of his family life - we heard about you all so many times.   He was so proud of his family.  Rest in Peace John.

You are missed my friend.  Though, may you be comfortable and enjoying the atmosphere currently surrounding you.  Our tennis matches, chess matches and conversations of math -your strengths, not mine :) and the world around us will be fond memories of mine!  May peace and love for the Lock family be plentiful in these times and forever moving forward!  Love you John!
