Peter, John and Walter. I cannot put into words how truly sorry I am to hear of your loss.  I had the honour of knowing your father as a gentle man with a great sense of  humour, who was very generous with his time and effort when helping out at the club.  I have many great memories of him and will always look back with fondness.  May he rest in peace and my most sincere condolences to your mother.

John, my dear friend;
We first met twenty years ago at the Flea Market.  What started as a business relationship turned into a great friendship with you and Mary.  You'll be remembered for many things; one of which is introducing me to a glass of brandy before noon.  You loved to always give me a hard time until I finally figured out I could rally with Mary and the two of us could throw back a challenge to you.  I think deep down you actually enjoyed that, you'd never openly acknowledge our point but your sly smile never escaped my notice. 
John, always the consummate gentleman. 
I sure will miss your calls, your hug and kiss, but you have made a lasting memory for me.  You will live on through my story telling to others.  I will see you again one day in Heaven.  Save a dance for me.

My sincere sympathy for your loss. I met John at the Alderwood pool a number of years ago and always found him a delight to talk to over that time. He was a real gentleman and an honour to know. His fellow swimmers referred to him as "the candy man" as he always had a sweet treat for everyone.

My condolences to John's family, I met John about 3 years ago at the Alderwood Pool where he swam most every chance he could. He would always greet you with a smile and ask "how are you today" and when you were leaving he would say "have a nice day", always soft spoken and a very friendly person, I along with other friends from the Pool will miss his genuine smile and good nature,,

I'm so sorry to hear of John's passing.  I knew John thru Pete, John (Jr) and Walter. I remember most especially in 1985 when I was new to Toronto (having moved from Vancouver in Oct. that year) that he invited me to share Xmas dinner with his family that December.
