Joseph was the 2nd youngest child of Duncan and Anne (nee MacKinnon) Callaghan and will be greatly missed by his surviving sister and brother: Anne Jackson, Duncan (Eleanor) and sister-in-Law, Lorna Callaghan. He was predeceased by his siblings: Tom (Marie), Rose Deans (John Deans), Johnny (Joan,) Babe (Elsie), Charlotte, Neil, Jackie Callaghan, Lawrie Jackson and Peter. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Joseph, though afflicted with many challenges in life, was a wonderful artist and loved spending time in nature. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Scarborough General Hospital, Palliative care team and Shepherd Lodge.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th, 2025, 4pm- 8pm at Kane – Jerrett Funeral Home (6191 Yonge St., south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 11th at 11:00 am at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church (75 Churchill Ave.). Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
