She passed away peacefully at her home in Toronto, Ontario. Kris was born on August 4, 1965, to Edward Robert Plews and Alice Diana Plews (Shoomski). Beloved daughter, sister, and aunt. Kris leaves behind her sister Karen Brownell (Plews), her niece Anne Marie deBarros, her Uncle Myron Shoomski, and her stepfather John Francis McCarthy. She was predeceased by her mother, father and grandmother Pearl Shoomski.
Kris loved the summertime, loved to be outdoors basking in the sunlight with friends and family. She loved to travel to warm tropical destinations. She was always smiling, laughing, enjoying family get togethers, birthdays, holidays, special family events, milestones.
Kris was laid to rest with her mother and grandmother, in the Good Sheppard Garden at Highland Memorial Gardens in Toronto on March 20, 2026 in a private family service.
