Born June 29, 1923 — Died August 5, 2025, age 102.
With love and gratitude, we say goodbye to our dear Auntie Peggy, who passed away peacefully at the age of 102 on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. She was the last of her six siblings and the matriarch of our family, a beacon of kindness, love, and strength.
Born Marguerite Taylor on June 29, 1923, Peggy grew up in Toronto and spent over 80 years in her home on Unsworth Avenue. She served her country during WWII working at a Binocular factory and worked for over 40 years at Stuart House, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew her.
Peggy was a long standing member of the Women’s Canadian Club and a devoted member of St. Leonard’s Church, where she sang in the choir, volunteered, and made countless contributions to her community. Her faith and kindness touched the lives of so many who knew her.Though she never married or had children, Peggy’s heart was boundless, and she mothered us all with her warmth, care, and generosity.
Auntie Peggy had a special way of making you feel seen and loved. Her hugs were full-hearted, tight, and lasting and always made you feel safe and cherished. She’d end every call with a joyful “I love youuuu!”, which was such a simple, heartfelt expression of the love she gave so freely. Her presence was a reminder that love, in all its forms, is what truly connects us.
She was known for her sweet nature, kind heart and her mantra: "Just keep moving." Whether sharing a cup of tea, a slice of her famous banana bread, or simply holding your hand during a quiet moment, Peggy gave us the gift of living fully, no matter our age.
In her final years at Delmanor Northtown, we affectionately called her “The Queen.” We are so thankful for the care and companionship she received from the staff, and especially from Gemma, who brought joy and comfort to her life.
Auntie Peggy’s legacy lives on in the way she made us feel loved, valued, and important. We will carry her memory with us in every hug, every “I love you,” and every small moment of kindness we offer to others.
Rest in peace, Auntie Peggy. Your love and warmth will never be forgotten. You will always be in our hearts.
