Mary Duff

Peacefully on February 22 in her 93rd year. Mary is survived by her children William (Esther), Bernard (late Rose) and Patricia Endemann (Len); six grandchildren, Fiona(Nigel), Erik(Kathrene), Lisa(Johnny), Megan, David; and Erica; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Sam and Hunter. Mary showered her children and grandchildren with tender affection and was greatly loved. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 36 years, William, Mary also endured the loss of her cherished daughter, Margaret Petersen in 2003. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the U.S.

Born in Scotland, Mary worked as a Registered Nurse’s Assistant at St Michael’s Hospital. Later, she established two family restaurants and a Scottish specialty shop before returning to nursing at Riverdale Hospital. She made many friends during the twenty years she lived in The Sherwood senior’s apartment. Many thanks to the staff at St. Luke’s Place in Cambridge for their kind care during the past six years.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Jerrett Funeral Home "North York Chapel", 6191 Yonge Street (south of Steeles) on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 12 pm until time of service in the chapel at 1pm. Inurnment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
