We met Patrick through Phil and Victor after we received a gift of a gorgeous framed mirror which was designed and made by Patrick. Taken by his natural creativity, always smiling and kind personality, we kept in touch many years. He has framed every art work in our home and our friend’s homes. He was so amazing both as an artist and as a community member where he lived. 
We will always remember you Patrick, rest in peace.

I find myself smiling even as I write these words for Patrick; my pen is embossed with the words “BE KIND”.
And kind he was. And caring, selfless in his generosity. Patrick was   an extraordinary artist - his creations  whimsical and fantastic.
Out and proud, I had the honour of Patrick hosting me on Pride Day in the heart of the village.
I shall miss our gab sessions (Patrick was NEVER at a loss for words!)
You rest now.
You left us far too soon.

Pat, you're gone too soon, my friend. I've always admired your creativity and imagination, which you managed to hone into a breathtaking talent for reproducing your experience of the world on a variety of media. You had the ability to cold-press humour from even the bleakest of material. I'll remember you as a free spirit and boundary-pushing adventurer; a kind heart who supported others when it counted most, in words and deeds. God Bless you, Pat. You'll be missed.

As a close friend for many years, I came to know Patrick’s worthy traits and many talents.
  His imaginative mind was always occupied with the creation of something beautiful.  I knew Patrick as an artist working in many different spheres of expression, including painting, sculpture, costume and makeup, prop design, furniture refinishing, frame making, gold-leaf gilding, renovation, and decorating.  We worked together on a few renovations where I saw his artistic magic happen. 
  Patrick was a kind, caring and thoughtful friend.  One winter over the Christmas season, I was in a hospital for over 3 weeks recovering from an operation and as my partner Victor would come after supper, it was Patrick who visited during the days, to help offset the boredom.  He even delivered a hand-crafted holiday wreath, to add some decorative joy to my room!
  He loved his pets as family.  And most were taken in as displaced animals.  Patrick had a soft heart when it came to giving a home for those in need, pets and even persons as well.  Going to his apartment was like visiting a mini zoo.  At one time he cared for five cats, a dog, a three-foot snake, a fish aquarium, a brother, and the occasional rescued baby racoon!
  Patrick was a fun person to be with.  He brought a joyfulness to any occasion with his good nature, sense of humour, easy smile, and an enthusiasm that was contagious.  
  His love of the outdoors was so great - when Victor and I would take him along up to a Wasaga Beach cottage on several occasions, he preferred to camp out in the backyard, with nature.  Every night, a roaring fire with marshmallow toasting would ensue. 

Patrick, we were blessed to know you. You enriched our lives!
See you Pat, “…somewhere, over the rainbow …”.

Patrick was the most creative, talented and kindest person that I ever met. All the beautiful mirrors and art pieces in my condo were his work. Such an eye for detail! I will forever cherish his memory every time I look at them now. 

Such a great loss- to Mary Jane and all of Patrick’s family, my deepest condolences and sympathies! With love,

Patrick was a beautiful soul, an extremely talented artist and  devoted  son to Mary Jane, Bill and Carolyn, loyal twin-brother to Michael and  loving uncle to Dylan. 
As the eldest cousin  in the James family I had  the privilege to  have loved him as a baby boy  and  then witnessed  his development as a  creative, thoughtful and  most importantly compassionate man.  So proud of you Cuz . 
My only wish is that we had more time on this earth together…love you Patrick xo

We will always have a smile as we recall your settlement in cottage country with your brother Mike, the trailers joined by a mutual roof on a farm near Kinmount.  We remember how excited you were by the idea of the great outdoors and the wilderness and the dream of an idylic lifestyle.  But in the end you really were a city boy... and a remarkable 'Centennial Project'!

You will be missed.
