Mr. Soosaipillai Perianayagam

The measure of a fine person is fully felt after they have left us and a great soul has left this earth. Soosaipillai Perianayagam (Perinpam) died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, after a brief but courageous fight on June 21, 2013 in his 82nd year. Son of the late Mr. Santhiapillai Soosaipillai and Late Mrs. Soosaipillai Mariapillai (Thangammah)

He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Mary Magdaline(Yogawathy) Perianayagam (nee Thiruchelvam). Loving brother to the late Mr. Sountharanayagam, Mrs. Anne Grace Soosaipillai, the late Mrs. Devaratnam (Baby) Navaratnam and Mr. Arianayagam.

He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his children Mr. Anton Jayenthiran and wife Maureen, Mrs. Amala Josephine and husband Noel Apputhurai, Mr. Alston Gajenthiran and wife Shamina Aranha, Mr. Joseph Wijenthiran and wife Vasanthini and grandchildren John, Gregory, Samantha, Amanda, Andriea, Andrew, Sean, Edward and Nicole.

Perianayagam was born in Malaysia on March 26, 1932, a native of llavalai, (Jaffna) , Sri Lanka migrated to Canada in 1990.

His love and devotion to his family and friends was endless. He had a zest for life and embraced all experiences with joy. His greatest joys though were the times he shared with family, friends and grandchildren.

He will be fondly remembered by his wide circle of Family and Friends.

Visitation will be held at Jerrett Funeral Home “North York Chapel”, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto (south of Steeles Avenue) on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 4-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church (75 Churchill Ave). Interment to follow at York Cemetery, 160 Beecroft Rd, Toronto, ON M2M 5Z5, Canada. A lunch will follow at Monte Cassino, 3710 Chesswood Drive, Downsview, Ontario – Phone: 416-630-8100.

In lieu of flowers, our Dad’s wish was for donations to be sent to the Trust Fund for the renovation and maintenance of the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes at St. Annes Church in Ilavalai, Jaffna, Sri Lanka. This will serve in memory of our grandfather, Mr. Santhiapillai Soosaipillai.
